Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Primary School Maths Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching mathematics to students in grades 1 through 5, ensuring a positive and engaging learning environment. The Maths Teacher will focus on building students' foundational math skills, enhancing their problem-solving abilities, and fostering a love for the subject.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teach Mathematics:

   • Deliver engaging lessons on basic arithmetic, number sense, geometry, fractions, measurement, and other age-appropriate math topics.
   • Use a variety of teaching methods, including hands-on activities, visual aids, and interactive lessons to accommodate different learning styles.
   • Develop lesson plans aligned with the curriculum and learning objectives.

2. Assess Student Progress:

   • Regularly assess student understanding through quizzes, assignments, and tests.
   • Provide constructive feedback to students on their strengths and areas for improvement.
   • Track and record student progress and maintain accurate student records.

3. Create a Positive Learning Environment:

   • Foster a classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a positive attitude toward mathematics.
   • Ensure classroom discipline and create an environment where all students feel safe and respected.

4. Individual Support:

   • Identify students who require additional support or enrichment and provide tailored assistance.
   • Offer one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions to help students struggling with specific concepts.

5. Collaborate with Colleagues:

   • Work closely with other teachers to integrate math concepts across the curriculum.
   • Attend faculty meetings and professional development workshops to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

6. Involve Parents and Guardians:

   • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
   • Organize parent-teacher conferences to discuss student performance and strategies for improvement.

7. Maintain a Safe and Organized Classroom:

   • Organize classroom materials and resources to ensure efficient learning.
   • Maintain classroom discipline and encourage positive behavior.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent).
• A teaching certification in the relevant educational system.
• Prior experience teaching mathematics in primary school is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, creativity, and the ability to adapt to diverse learning styles.
• Familiarity with modern teaching tools and techniques, including digital resources and interactive learning methods.
